She taught hundreds.
She had never learned
to trust herself.

Every day she stood at the front of the room with confidence. Every day she sat inside herself with doubt. That contradiction had been running for years.

She gave her students the confidence she never gave herself.

She came to Aureve with a very specific pain: she was stuck. Stuck in the same role, the same patterns, the same relationship with herself that she had been in for years. She worked hard, prepared meticulously, and still felt perpetually on the edge of being found out. The fear of being seen as inadequate had followed her into every classroom, every staff meeting, every conversation with leadership.

Her education felt irrelevant to her — she was a science graduate doing work she had never formally trained for, and every day she walked in believing her colleagues could see that gap. She couldn't negotiate for more. She couldn't claim credit for her contributions. She dismissed her achievements the moment they arrived, convinced they were too small to count.

She had a compulsive need to know everything before she started anything — perfectionism as protection against exposure. She checked her work to the last minute. She couldn't show anything unfinished to anyone. And she was desperately, achingly tired of operating this way.

The classroom had always been her strength. Now we worked on everything else.

Aureve Core began with the specific belief system she had built around expertise and formal qualifications. She had convinced herself that only certain kinds of credentials made a person legitimate — and that hers didn't qualify. We examined that belief carefully: what evidence supported it, and what evidence she had been quietly ignoring for years.

The sessions addressed perfectionism not as a strength to be moderated but as an anxiety strategy to be understood. She was not perfectionist because she cared about quality — she was perfectionist because mistakes felt existentially threatening. When we located the source of that threat, the perfectionism lost some of its grip. She began submitting things before she had smoothed every edge. The results were fine. Better than fine.

She learned to speak in meetings, to accept compliments without immediately listing their caveats, and to sit with the discomfort of being seen as someone who was still learning. That last shift — from 'I must know everything' to 'it is okay to be becoming' — was the one that changed everything.
